Who said that a portal had to be stuffed to the brim with content? Who said that it had to be dry and utilitarian? With this project we were working with the toughest audience of all; youth. We had to strike a balance between presenting content in a way that had big impact and appeal without condescending.
The online brand took a brave departure for a government website - using 3D character illustrations to help convey some of the messages around skills and work. The Characters reinforce the values of the printed brand or mark, bursting with life and vibrancy. The result was strong and vibrant online identity which was perfectly pitched at its youth audience.
